RedHawk's W.E.S.T. Program

INTRODUCING W.E.S.T.

The RedHawk Workplace Emergency and Safety Training Program offer five modules to provide training in emergency preparedness and urban survival. The modules are designed and taught by experts in the field - we offer only the best!

The five modules focus on:

  Emergency Preparedness

  Manager Operations

  Active Shooter Response

  Women's Survival

  Personal Protection

Companies can select the modules that suit their needs best - RedHawk will customize the content and delivery to ensure your particular company requirements are met.

CUSTOMIZABLE!

You can choose to enroll in all five of the core modules or focus on one, two or three - we can easily accommodate your needs. The modules are designed to provide a one or two day intensive per topic, or we can provide multiple days focused on one topic.

For instance, your company may choose to offer all of the modules over five days of instruction (a total of 40 hours), with one module offered per day.

Or you may want more intensive emergency preparedness for multiple days, complemented with one or two days of personal protection instruction.

Or perhaps you wish to offer a two day intensive of women's survival followed by a day of active shooter and another of emergency preparation. We can combine the modules to suit your needs.

We also offer longer intensives. For instance, you can offer employees who will act as first responders a full week of active shooter or emergency preparation.

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS

This Module equips corporate employees with the know-how and tools needed to responsibly develop emergency awareness and preparedness in a variety of situations.

An emergency can be defined simply as a serious, unexpected, and often dangerous situation that requires immediate action. They range from earthquake survival to bio or chemical hazard exposure. Preparedness and awareness are the keys to protecting our employees and our customers.

Proper preparation will give you and your employees self-confidence, a positive mental attitude and the necessary equipment needed for survival and support safety planning.

Module Outcomes:

Gain awareness of human-induced emergency risks

Explore the process of emergency preparedness for corporate settings including client protection planning

Recognize and utilize RedHawk's survival kits for corporate settings

Appreciate the benefits of foresight, knowledge, planning, training, cooperation, resilience and communication with emergency preparedness

Apply the RedHawk 9 steps for Survival TM as a blueprint for emergency awareness and preparedness planning

Types of Emergencies

  Natural Disasters

  Extreme Weather Conditions

  Human-Induced Disasters

  Terrorist Attacks

  Bio & Chemical Material Hazards

All companies should regularly conduct emergency preparedness training for all employees to ensure familiarity with response plans, ensure that emergency communications equipment is always operable, and that employees are adequately trained in their use - with emergency kits always at hand. Our modules include our high quality emergency response kits as well.

MANAGER OPERATIONS

Our special corporate Manager Operations kit comes equipped with a tough computer, Hazmat chemical suit with breathing apparatus and a communication satellite phone so you are always connected no matter what is happening around you and your team! This module prepares leaders to work with this special operations kit and in emergency planning activities.

ACTIVE SHOOTER RESPONSE

This module prepares your employees to respond in aware ways to in an active shooter incident. Most active shooter situations are unpredictable and evolve quickly. Because most incidents are over within minutes, we must be prepared to deal with the situation until law enforcement personnel arrive.

Shooting incidents begin and end in such a short period of time (usually under 10 to 15 minutes) that by the time first responders arrive on the scene, the shooting is usually over and either the shooter has fled or has killed himself.

Preparedness and awareness are the keys to helping protect our employees, our customers, and ourselves. No one likes to think about a shooter in their workplace, but unfortunately, they are becoming more common, even in Canada.

Types of Shooters

  Workplace-Related and School Shooters

  Criminal Terrorists

  Ideological Terrorists

In this Module, our expert instructors will empower your employees to develop informed vigilance awareness and strategies to protect themselves, each other, and your clients. Our instructors have years of experience and will guide you to react with authority in real-life situations

WOMEN'S SURVIVAL

This module involves learning about potentially dangerous situations and ways to avoid them. Women are taught about the four threat zones, confident demeanor, ways in which victims are chosen, the use of body language, use of intuition and predatory/prey behavior.

Your employees will also be provided with common scenarios that they may face in real life such as elevators, public transportation, dating, stalking/being followed, distraction techniques and many more. Women will also be introduced to the importance of having a survival mindset.

Basic Chokes and Holds

Employees will learn how to escape the most common grabs, holds and chokes used by attackers. Additionally they will learn how to defend against a forward and rear bear hug where they could be picked up and moved against their will. Women will be able to practice these defensive tactics against single and multiple attackers

Simulated Attacks

This program gives the participants an opportunity to bring their training together and apply what they have learned in a reality based scenario. Scenario training provides women with a high stress environment which simulates real world settings. Scenario training helps solidify their training and create a mental blueprint of what to do in real life situations such as a sexual assault, peer violence, or attempted abduction. Women will experience the physiological effects of adrenaline and other ways the body and mind respond under stress.

The Women's Survival module offered by Red Hawk differs from the general Personal Protection module in that it places emphasis on issues faced by women in today's society.

This module is designed to teach girls and women how to protect themselves in a variety of all too real situations women face today: sexual harassment, sexual assault, and domestic violence.

One of the most important aspects of this module is teaching women how to prepare for real conflict, emotionally and physically. This module offers knowledge and information from developing assertiveness skills to learning how to be more "situationally aware".

Women will become more Confident, more Self Assured, more Empowered and In Control.

PERSONAL PROTECTION

The objective of Red Hawk's Personal Protection program is to teach your employees how to avoid potentially dangerous situations through awareness of their surroundings, knowing possible threats and learning how to fight for their life if they, or others, are in danger.

Red Hawk's Personal Protection provides a complete range of knowledge which enables your employees with all the means possible in order to protect and defend themselves and overpower their attackers.

It consists of defence against all types of aggression - punches, hits, kicks, strangulations, holds, armed attacks or threats (e.g. knives, guns, sticks, grenades, etc.).

Participants also learn to adjust their response to different situations, familiar or unfamiliar, where freedom of movement or adequate visibility is limited, such as attacks in the dark, or in when seated or in a horizontal position.

Vital Components

Participants learn how to deal with Personal Protection emotionally, psychologically, socially and physically. For instance, participants learn how to avoid confrontation through awareness and the use of verbal de-escalation. Our discussion includes the psychology of an attack and how to deal with it emotionally, psychologically and physically.

Being mentally prepared is even more important because the mind is what drives the body. This means that people can have all the self defense knowledge in the world but if they don't have the mental blueprints embedded, they will have less success of survival. Participants will learn how to develop these blueprints in this module.

Defensive Tactics

Employees will learn how to identify the most vulnerable areas of the body and how to strike them quickly, efficiently and effectively.

Situational Awareness and using a Non-Aggressive Posture is one of the best tools to catch an attacker off guard. We cover many devastating strikes including eye rakes, palm strikes, elbows, knees, kicks plus how to attack other vulnerable areas of the body.
